Tension Headache can be chronic and sufferers may experience more than just a pain in the head! The pain can radiate into your neck and shoulders. Constant pain usually leads to increased stress levels and irritability.
Causes of Tension Headaches
There are many and various factors that may cause a Tension headache. The most obvious just being stressed or poor posture, sitting at your desk with your shoulders slumped and your head craned forward, tension in shoulders, and grinding teeth at night.
Some of the causes:
- Exercising too little or too much.
- lack of sleep
- excessive neck flexion during night sleep due to the incorrect use of pillow
- sleeping on your stomach causing excessive neck flexion backwards or sideward
As strange as it may seem, any these things can cause or aggravate the pain of the Tension Headache.
