Back Pain Clinic – Coventry Rugby Player Faces Months On Sidelines
According to a report in the Coventry Telegraph, one of Coventry RFC’s star players, prop Carl Rimmer, faces a minimum of 6 months on the sidelines and many visits to the back pain clinic. Coventry RFC has endured an unspectacular season and sit in mid-table but the news that their prop, Carl Rimmer, 22, needs an operation after suffering a prolapsed disc in his neck. Providing the operation proves successful, the rugby star will require numerous trips to the back pain clinic (Coventry has plenty of excellent such institutions) and hopes to be back playing again next season.
Back Pain Clinic – Coventry RFC Star’s Road To Recovery
After visiting a back pain clinic, Coventry RFC’s, Carl Rimmer, hopes that his back injury could be fully rehabilitated and that he can get back on the pitch as soon as possible. Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, Rimmer stated, “I thought I had possibly trapped a nerve in my back or shoulder a couple of weeks before, but it was nothing to the pain I was feeling after Newbury. The disc is rubbing against a nerve which is causing the pain and my left arm to go numb.” The full extent of the injury discovered that the player had a prolapsed disc in his neck which requires surgery and trips to the back pain clinic. Coventry RFC hope that if the player doesn’t make it back in time for next season, he come back fitter and stronger for the following season.
Back Pain Clinic – Coventry’s Rimmer In Good Company
When it comes to rugby, props are often the most susceptible to injury, particularly back injury, as they often have the full weight of scrum collapsing upon them which creates great pressure on the neck and back. One player who had a similar injury to that suffered by Coventry RFC prop, Rimmer, was South Africa’s back row star, Schalk Burger, who had surgery to fuse two vertebrae in his spin and endured many visits to the back pain clinic. Coventry RFC hope their star prop, Carl Rimmer, can make a similar return from injury as did Burger back in 2007 after his horrifying injury against Scotland in an international match.
